Derelict Fishing Gear Project on the Horizon
After a successful first year of our Derelict Lobster Gear Retrieval, Salvage & Disposal Project, funded by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation, GOMLF is upping the ante to remove lost traps from the bottom of the ocean and along the shoreline. We will coordinate a joint effort between lobstermen and members of Maine coastal communities to implement trap clean-ups.
We invite you to contribute to the cause! With your help, this gear recovery project can have a broader reach (STATEWIDE) and a greater impact on the health of the marine habitat in the Gulf of Maine.
No lobsterman worth his salt would choose to lose his gear!
